The Mysterious Bernadette

“WHERE’D YOU GO BERNADETTE” written by Maria Semple is a funny, mysterious, and full of world wind of emotions.

Bernadette is a strong, hardworking and intelligent women. Who created an amazing career for herself, got married to the man of her dreams and had the most perfect little girl Bee. So what possibly could be the problem? Well that is for you to find out.

This book is full of up and downs, twists and turns and it has you laughing all the way through.

The thing that I could relate to most was Bernadette’s daughter Bee! You see Bee was born with some health issues, that had kept her in and out of the hospital when she was a baby. However, she has never let that stop her and she considers herself completely healthy now with big goals for herself.

When I was a baby I was in and out of the hospital as well. However, just like be I consider myself very lucky and healthy and with a bright future ahead.

I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a mystery novel but also loves a good laugh! This book surely did not disappoint! 🙂

Britt-Marie the Brave

“Britt-Marie was Here” written by Fredrik Backman is a well written and heartfelt story. It is about a newly singled middle-aged women by the name of Britt-Marie that experiences a heartbreaking event and finds herself needing to get a job. She is a stay-at-home wife and step-mother that has never had a job before. So this is a new experience for her. The job that she winds-up finding is working in a recreation center in a poor little village on the side of the road.

It is through this little village that she meets the most inspiring people that she as ever met before. These people make her feel welcome and make her see the world in a whole new light. There is also a

The one thing that I notice reading this book is that there are a lot of similarities between Britt-Marie in “Britt-Marie was Here” and Ove in “A Man Called Ove” also written by Fredrik Backman. Both stories take the reader on a journey through the main characters life. They both suffered an unpleasant childhood which made them the closed off people they became in their adulthood. Britt-Marie suffered through the tragic death of her sister at a young age and Ove didn’t have easiest of childhoods either. They both find  love and got married. After tragic events they both after to mange through life by themselves. In both stories the most unexpected of people help open these characters up and express their feelings in ways that are completely new.

I would truly recommend these two stories if you are looking for a meaningful and sometimes feel-good but also heartbreaking stories.

Magnolia World

“THE MAGNOLIA STORY”- written by Chip and Joanna Gaines is heartwarming story about that joys and hardships of following your dreams.

It follows the HGTV stars as they grew up, met each other and fell in love, had children and created this mega enterprise we now know as Magnolia Homes.

It wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies for this couple for this awesome couple. They have had the same troubles as any young couples have starting their lives together.

One thing that inspired me the most was the love that Chip and Joanna have for each other. They are quite the opposites but I guess “Opposites do Attract!”  They run off each other so beautifully. The balance of the unpredictable personality of Chip balances the realistic and calm personaliaty of Joanna.

This book is one of those fun, heartwarming easy reads full of inspiration for those that want to start their own business but are terried!

OVE THE GREAT

“A Man Called Ove” written by Fredrick Backman is a heartwarming contemporary classic book about a man with basic principles. Ove is a middle age man who has not had the easiest of childhoods with the loss of both of his parents at an early age. Now he must figure out this thing called life on his own. Just has life was about to look up, the accident occurred. This resulted in a whole new set of challenges for an already grumpy man that doesn’t know how to deal in this new world of technology.
This is a fantastic book for anyone who is looking for easy, heartfelt book with lots of opportunity for laughter.

“Talking As Fast As I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (And Everything in Between)” by: Lauren Graham. This book is a collection of essays from Lauren’s journey of her first ever audience for a play to her every last day of filming of “Gilmore Girls: A Year In A Life.” Lauren Graham is best known for being Lorelai Gilmore of the hit series Gilmore Girls and Sarah Braverman on another hit show Parenthood.

The title of the book is ironic because one of the main aspects of the Lorelai Gilmore’s character is the fast dialogue. She is always hyped up on coffee served by Luke Danes.

This book also takes you through Lauren living the single life in Hollywood to her finding Mr. Right.

She really went into detail about playing her favorite character Lorelai. From the first day, she met Alexis Bledel (who was her on screen daughter) to her very last day of filming “Gilmore Girls: A Year in A Life.” Her reaction to being at in Stars Hollow was priceless and very special. There really is anything more special than watching a delightful story come to a great end!
If you are a fan of the Gilmore Girls series and looking for an easy, fun, laugh-out-loud book, this book is for you!

Fenway Frank

November 26th, 2004 will always be a day that I will forever remember! That was the day I got my first puppy Frank Hadley. Now I am the youngest out of seven kids and our house was pretty full and hectic back then. It was a challenge trying to convince my parents to let us get a pet of any kind. After weeks of trying to convince my mother and it working. My Dad eventually gave in as well! So on this Black Friday back in 04′ my family loaded into the minivan and headed off to New Hampshire to look at puppies.

Once we got the breeder my brothers and sisters began picking out the right puppy. My Dad kept saying “We are only looking and not buying!” Until the breeder said he had a Miniature Dachshund in the barn out in the back., that a family decided they didn’t want anymore. Just then the smallest, cutest puppy I have ever seen walked through the door! That was how Fenway Frank became a Hadley!

Fenway Frank lived a great 12 years, full of tail wags, naps, treats, trips to Boston and Maine and great memories! However, around 11 years old he became sick and we knew our time with him was limited. Sadly on December 5th 2015 he passed away during hos favorite passed time sleeping. That was for sure the toughest day of my life so far. Fenway was not just a pet but my Puppy Brother and my best friend! I will never forget the memories and I am truly greatful for all the days I had with him!
